Most homes experience some type of rot issue through the years. And all of it can be fixed. As you see in the pictures below, most of the time the issue is not seen until the siding and / or other items, such as doors or windows are repaired or replaced. If these areas are not repaired and continue to grow, over time the affected area could result in more extensive repairs and costs. It is imperative that a home owner rectify the situation as soon as possible. We have seen several homes actually collapse, which resulted in lifting an entire wall to replace a rotted sill and floor joists.
Sill completely rotted away. This is a major disaster waiting to happen.
Restored framing A new pressure treated sill was installed as well as studs.
Re-insulated.
New plywood and tar paper were applied.
Total restoration completed.
After removing the existing slider and kick plate. Damage is now revealed.
All of the damaged material was removed and re-framed.
Grace was applied to protect the new framing from any water infiltration.
The new slider was installed properly. The siding will now be re-applied.
